Vicinity

I'm pleased to announce Perspective Group and Photography Gallery selected one of my photography pieces for their "Vicinity Exhibition" in July.  Artists that live close enough to travel to Evanston to drop off their artwork (if selected), live in the 'vicinity' for the purposes of this exhibit.  (Opening Reception, Saturday July1st, 5-7pm)

Juror: Melissa Ann Pinney

Melissa Ann Pinney's closely-observed studies of the social lives and emerging identities of American women have won the photographer numerous fellowships and awards. Her evocative photographs of the stages of life of American women earned her a Guggenheim Fellowship, which resulted in her first major monograph, Regarding Emma: Photographs of American Women and Girls (2003). Mellisa Ann Pinney's next book, Girl Ascending, (2010) focused on a touchstone moment in the lives of American girls. Pinney's most recent book, TWO, include 80 photographs alongside short essays by ten distinguished authors on the nature of two. Ann patches edited the book and wrote the introductions.
